The Amami Islands are advancing a “High-Value Inbound Tourism Development Project” that aims to protect the value of our World Natural Heritage while passing the region’s nature, culture, and way of life on to future generations.

We are now seeking project partners who deeply understand the unique appeal of Amami and can provide international visitors with distinctive, high-quality experiences.
The goal of this project is to establish a tourism model that creates new value unique to Amami—one that balances the conservation of local resources with a sustainable regional economy.

We welcome partners who share these principles and who are committed to practicing sustainable tourism together with the local community, and who will help shape the future with the region.

This project is not simply about developing tourism products. We are seeking partners who will work alongside the community to create tourism that
protects Amami’s nature, culture, and everyday life—while also generating pride and economic improvement for local residents.
