The rainy season comes to a close as the sunflowers bloom on Amami Oshima. The island’s sunflower fields are planted and cared for by the locals. You can spot one along Route 58 in Aminoko, Setouchi Town, and another near Kurasaki Beach in the Ashitoku community of Tatsugo Town. The Ashitoku field (pictured) should be in full bloom soon, so be sure to stop by! After having a summer photoshoot, continue down the road to Kurasaki Beach to cool off in the glistening ocean waters.
