Amami City held its firework displays on August 5th. The fireworks were set off simultaneously in Naze, Kasari, and Sumiyo. Unfortunately, the funakogi boat races, planned for August 6th, were canceled due to the rise in Covid-19 cases.
Setouchi Port Matsuri, 8/21, and Hiratomi Matsuri in Yamato Village, 8/28, have also canceled their funakogi boat races. Setouchi Town still plans to set off fireworks on 8/21, while Yamato Village has postponed theirs to a later date.
