Takachiho Shrine

Takachiho Shrine is tucked into the southwestern edge of Naze. It was originally founded in 1869, and has become a main part of various celebrations for Naze residents, including the New Year’s tradition of ‘hatsumode’ (visiting a temple or shrine for the first time in the new year). During mid-January to mid-February, Takachiho Shrine is surrounded by dark pink ‘hikanzakura’ cherry blossoms.
